ShadPS4 is a multi-platform PlayStation 4 emulator that offers you the chance to run a good range of this Sony console's catalog on your Mac. To work properly, the emulator requires you to have Visual Studio Code installed. If you don't meet this requirement, you won't be able to play any PS4 title no matter how powerful your Mac is, as the emulator simply won't run.

Configuring ShadPS4 is easy. After opening the emulator for the first time, it will create a "User" folder where you unzipped it. Inside this folder will be a file named "config.toml". When you open this file with the notepad you will have access to lots of different parameters that you can toggle between True and False. Unlike emulators for the previous generation of consoles, ShadPS4 does not work with classic ROMs. Instead, you will have to install the PKG files of the video games you want to play on your Mac. This process is much simpler than it sounds. In the File tab of the emulator you will find the quick access where you can install PKG files. Choose the one you want to install and wait a few seconds for the process to be completed. Sometimes you might have to wait several minutes, depending on the size of the game you are installing.
